Staff Hunger Interventions (Year 2024)

Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU) – Interventions to Prevent and Alleviate Hunger Among Staff (SDG 2)

Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU) places strong emphasis on the well-being and quality of life of its staff—covering physical, mental, and social dimensions. Recognizing that food security is essential to maintaining both health and productivity, the university has implemented a range of direct intervention programs to prevent and alleviate hunger among its staff throughout the academic year 2024.

Healthy Workplace Support

One key initiative involves providing free coffee and beverages to staff during work hours and meetings to foster a positive work environment, boost energy and concentration, and promote overall well-being. In addition, snacks and lunch are offered to attendees of internal meetings, training sessions, and seminars to ensure staff have access to adequate and healthy food throughout the day.

Spiritual and Cultural Engagement

During significant religious festivals, NSTRU organizes “Making Merit by Offering Hot Food (Tak Bat)” activities—offering food to monks as part of Buddhist traditions. These events aim to strengthen morality, ethics, and organizational unity. Following the ceremonies, the university provides food and beverages to all participants, promoting both physical nourishment and mental harmony within the community.

Promoting Staff Well-being and Sustainable Growth

These activities play a vital role in reducing hunger risks among employees during work hours, supporting a balance of physical and mental health, and increasing work performance and satisfaction. They also reflect NSTRU’s dedication to fostering an organizational culture centered on care, compassion, and mutual support—a strong foundation for sustainable institutional development.
