Promoting Responsible Water Use Within and Beyond the University

Year: 2024

Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University has taken active steps to promote responsible water management both on and off campus.

Within the university, water-saving measures have been implemented through awareness campaigns and signage in practical use areas to encourage behavioral change among students and staff. Additionally, wastewater is naturally treated through the Klong Sai Kai (small artificial canal) in the 1-Rai Rubber Forest Project, allowing treated water to be reused for agricultural purposes. This natural filtration process improves water quality and promotes a sustainable reuse system.

Beyond the university, water management initiatives have been extended to local communities through academic service and integrated learning projects. These activities include field surveys of water quality issues, knowledge transfer on adaptation to water and climate challenges, and collaboration with local agricultural areas to provide guidance for safe and sustainable water management practices.

Altogether, these efforts highlight the university’s tangible role in promoting responsible and sustainable water management both on campus and within nearby communities.
