Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

Water Consumption Tracking

Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU) has established a systematic clean water management system to ensure that all members of the university community have safe and sufficient access to water for consumption and daily use.

The university utilizes raw water from two primary sources:

  • Phrom Lok Waterfall – providing an average of 3,000 cubic meters per day
  • Wang Kong Village Water Supply (Village 6) – providing an average of 500 cubic meters per day

This yields a total raw water supply of approximately 3,500 cubic meters per day, which is processed through a basic water treatment system that includes sediment filtration and chlorination before distribution to all campus buildings and functional areas.

Water Usage and Population Served

The current clean water system supports approximately 10,000 students and over 1,000 staff members, serving a total on-campus population of more than 11,000 people.

The average water consumption rate is about 200 liters per person per day, which aligns with the standard usage level for higher education institutions. This capacity adequately meets both operational and daily consumption needs across the university.

Commitment to Sustainable Water Management

This comprehensive water management initiative reflects the university’s strong commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation. It ensures the continuous availability of clean and safe water for all members of the academic community while promoting sustainable use of natural resources.

💧 Aligned with SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

Through systematic clean water management and responsible consumption monitoring, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University demonstrates leadership in ensuring equitable access to safe, sustainable water for all members of its community.
