The Bachelor of Public Health Program at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University collaborates at both the local and national levels in community health care initiatives under various projects, as follows:
- Tanyarak Project
The Tanyarak Project is an academic collaboration supported by funding from the Tanyarak Foundation and the Ministry of Public Health. The objectives of this project are: 1. To help Thai women avoid the dangers of breast cancer, which is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among Thai women. 2. To promote the correct and regular practice of breast self-examination among Thai women. As of 2024, the project has provided breast cancer self-examination education to approximately 7,500 women in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, resulting in a significant increase in knowledge and skills for performing self-breast exams, with over 83% improvement.
- Community Public Health Development Project
This project integrates the teaching and learning of Public Health students from the Faculty of Science and Technology with public health initiatives at the provincial level. The project is carried out through various health promotion hospitals at the sub-district level and focuses on addressing community health issues such as chronic diseases, dengue fever, and waste management.
The project has successfully implemented 17 health interventions aimed at solving community health issues. Of these, 16 projects (94%) contributed to increased knowledge, behavior change, and a reduction in the severity of health problems in the community. A total of 1,200 participants were involved in the projects, with satisfaction ratings of “good” to “very good” from over 80% of participants.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Project
The CPR project is a collaboration with schools in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, aimed at educating and training high school students in life-saving CPR techniques. The project involved 5 schools, with 500 students participating. Assessment results showed that 87% of students successfully met the CPR skill standards set for the program.
