SDG 17.4.3 Education for SDGs in the wider community

The university has implemented a grassroots economic and social development project with budget support from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. This project aims to drive the “Old Town Market of Tha Wang,” resulting in clear and tangible community development. The community has the opportunity to fully participate in the project, fostering cooperation with both the public and private sectors, including the Mayor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality, community leaders, representatives from the Nakhon Si Thammarat Chamber of Commerce, and shops in Tha Wang and nearby areas. This collaboration has the potential to generate income and strengthen the community. Additionally, during the academic year 2023-2024, the university consistently conducted activities aimed at broadening the results. These activities included workshops on “Making a Creative Economic District,” “Designing shops in the Creative Economic District,” and “Designing the surrounding area and connecting with the community,” which attracted participants from the old town community, nearby areas, and the general public.
